The Preferences dialog window allows you to set user-default values for some GS+ behaviors. There are three categories available – settings for Data File Import (as described here), settings for General Preferences, and settings for Analyses.
The Reset command returns all user-default values on this tab only to original (GS+ - defined) default values. To reset all values on all tabs, use the Global Reset command.
Default extension for the data file name specified when importing data files into the Data Worksheet.
When importing data files, these values indicate which fields (Sample ID, Y Coordinate, X Coordinate, Z Variate, and Covariate) to assign initially to different variates. These default initial assignments can be overridden by assignments in the Data Worksheet window.
When importing data files, this is the default file type. See the File Import dialog, Import Text Files, and Import Spreadsheets dialogs for further information about file types.
When importing data files, report this many places past the decimal in the Data Worksheet cells. This value is overridden when specifying places past the decimal in the Field (Column) Assignment Dialog of the Data Worksheet window.
When new data is imported and when columns are reassigned (e.g. when the X-Coordinate column is reassigned to column 3 from column 2), the internal data array used by GS+ must be rebuilt. This can take some time if the array is big because duplicates must be checked, missing values tested, and autocorrelation boundaries rechecked. The alternative to automatic recalculation is to press the Rebuild button on the Data Worksheet Window. Check or uncheck these boxes to turn off automatic array rebuilds.
